This Summer one of Mango’s key themes is the rustic look, including warm or neutral colours with florally prints. Understated make-up and the natural setting of the shoot create a relaxed mood which is oh-so-summery…
The ‘shorts-and-a-tee’ outfit is one of the easiest options in summer – it doesn’t have the blow-up potential of a skirt or dress plus it’s comfy and (dare I say it) practical. The current Urban Outfitters sale makes now a great time to pick up a few quirky / vintage tees to see you through summer…
(all Urban Outfitters, £9.99)
If you can’t find what you want in the UO sale, here are some alternatives:
Summer makeup is all about crazy-vibrant colours you just can’t wear in winter: festivals allow you to really experiment and show your true colours. Max Factor has stepped up and created a whole new range all about using maximum colour for maximum impact – just for summer 2010: Max Colour Effect.
Max Factor say: “Max Colour Effect is Max Factor’s boldest collection of colours. All shades are strikingly beautiful and offer endless possibilities to push the boundaries and recreate colourful looks everyday.
To be honest, I’m not too fussed about looking strikingly beautiful or pushing boundaries, but by making a statement with your makeup you don’t have to worry about your hair or outfit as much… Perfect festival wear, methinks.
Max Effect Trio Eye Shadows – £6.49
This handy pallet is nice and compact, and comes in 6 combinations including Over the Ocean and Sweet Pink – both pretty self-explanatory names…
Max Effect Lip Gloss – £4.99
The gloss provides a ‘dazzling shine’ and comes in 12 shades – each with their own flavour! Mmm… So we will have a balanced diet this summer. Plus, it has a non-stick formula.
Max Effect Dip-In Eye shadows – £5.99
These powder eyeshadows come with a sponge applicator and are great for adding a splash of colour due to their high pearl and colour pigments.
Max Effect Mini Nail Polishes – £3.49
Long lasting and chip resistant, this nail polish will survive all the horrors we put our hands through every Summer, and anyway, the bottle is small enough to carry round for a quick touch up.
Tuula is the name of an ultra cool blog as well as an eBay store which 21 year old Jessica, online vintage store owner and model, owns. I think Tuula’s got summer-y spirit down to a T – she does live in Australia, after all… Check out her eBay store, as well as looking photoshoots and news on Tuula’s blog – her photos are gorgeous.
Well, England might be out of the World Cup (lets not talk about it) but we are certainly not having a typically English Summer. The sun is out and this, my friends, can only mean one thing; we can have a immensely amazing British summer, Pimms and strawberries, picnics on Primrose Hill, Bike rides in Richmond park, the list is actually endless. So what better way to have a quintessentially English summer than to look the part….

Now all you need is a gingham picnic blanket and a wicker basket….
Katy Perry’s recent hit has a contagious, sugary feel – the video is set in Candyland, after all. It’s all about contrasting colours and cutsie prints, everything about it is sweet and a little bit sickly.
Here’s the best on the high street (minus the wig…)
